Dr Johnson wrote a famous dictionary in 1755, and he also wrote a lot about his favourite cat, Hodge - including that “he is a very fine cat indeed!” Hodge agrees with this opinion!
Hodge was created by Jon Bickley in 1997, and now he lives outside his old master‘s house in Gough Square. Like many cats, Hodge loves exploring, and he especially likes discovering other statues.
In honour of his master’s dictionary, he has found an alphabet of statues in and around Westminster Abbey and central London, which he shares with you in If Statues Could Talk… Look out for him as you walk around London; you can spot him by the ‘H’ hanging round his neck!
